Petition to: President Biden and his Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
Whereas:
Employers should support working pregnant women with maternity leave, as well as accommodations for miscarriage, stillbirth, and breastfeeding; and
Whereas:
The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, which passed with robust bi-partisan Congressional support in December of 2022, mandated all the aforementioned accommodations; and
Whereas:
The President’s Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has mandated a new rule to the legislation which would force employers to accommodate employees seeking abortions just like they would for pregnancy; and
Whereas:
Not only will the new abortion rule completely act against what the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act was intended for, but it will make it easier for Planned Parenthood to prey on women since work won’t be a hurdle to getting an abortion anymore!
Therefore:
I demand that you – President Joseph Biden and the EEOC – remove this unprecedented rule immediately and return legislative power to the Congress where it belongs!
